About Us

Our story

Lovely Leaps was birthed in the beautiful city of Montreal. While studying dance at Concordia University and volunteering with children in the city, Lisa had a brilliant idea. It was to combine her love of dance and children, creating Lovely Leaps.

We are a dance enrichment program that wants to cultivate a love of dance, movement, and creativity in the younger generation. We aim to make dance fun and enjoyable while developing key motor skills. Lovely Leaps strives to have imagination, peace, joy, and love within every class we teach.

We pride ourselves on having small classes maxed out at 12 students and amazing teachers. Lovely Leap’s is a premier dance program catering to private, charter and home schools for children ages 0 to 10 years of age. You can join our class at our partnered schools or our studio, located in the San Elijo area of San Marcos, CA.

Our Founder | Lisa Mccabe

Lisa has loved the art form of dance at a very young age. She started formal training at age 10. From there she has danced with: Ballet Conservatory, Danceology, San Diego Dance Center, tested out of her Cecchetti levels at Black Mt. Dance, San Elijo Youth Ballet Company, accepted to Joffrey Ballet, Jillana’s Dance School and Ballet Magnificats summer programs.

During her college years, she went off to Montreal Canada and studied choreography at Concordia University. After Montreal, she went to teach dance to inner-city children ages 3-8 in New Jersey. Once her assignment there was complete she then went back home to San Diego. While home she joined Mira Costa’s Dance Company and went on to further her choreography skills. She also choreographs C3 churches 2 annual shows while running the 8:30 am kids church service alongside her husband Ricky.

She is now running Lovely Leaps and teaching at some of the top preschools in San Diego. Also, she has decided to collaborate with parents directly to bring her love of dance to more children!
